I am an accredited member of the Institute of Civil Funerals, and my work is monitored by them to ensure that standards remain high.
I have been rigorously trained to deliver the following:
- Scattering of ashes dedications
- Memorial Services
- Funeral Services
- Pre-planning a ceremony and/or Eulogy
I will use my creative skills to facilitate a meaningful ceremony in the following situations:
Scattering of ashes dedications
I will help you to design and deliver a simple, intimate ceremony for scattering ashes in whatever setting is required.
A memorial service can occur in a variety of circumstances, but it is not a funeral service.
It is an opportunity to bring together an array of people, of varying ages, to provide a holistic view of the person. Contributors can sing, read poetry, recount stories, and recall memories of their connections with the person. Other items can be added to the ceremony. For example, lighting candles, or releasing balloons. The audience may be asked to wear bright colours, or bring a particular flower to hold or wear.
My role is to advise, help and organise the ceremony and act as Master of Ceremonies on the day.
A Civil Funeral is for anyone and can be appropriate for cremation or burial. This also includes woodland burial.
The wishes of the deceased and the family always take precedence. Consideration is also shown for the circumstances in which the person has died.
My role is to listen, and write the ceremony that reflects the person who has died. The ceremony will be designed to provide the opportunity for the bereaved to remember and say farewell.
I offer a service whereby you can:
- Pre-plan your own funeral. For example, drafting the structure of the ceremony and component parts; considering the music that you would like played, or who will read a poem (selected by you).
- Devise the eulogy for your funeral ceremony assisted by me.
